We have posted the official points for the 2008 Mopar Hemi Challenge as provided by NHRA. Contrary to the NHRA coverage of the US Nationals, Charlie Westcott was not awarded a check for the Championship, as we still have two more events to go this year. The Champion will be crowned at the Dutch Classic in Maple Grove and while Charlie Westcott certainly has a substantial lead, it is not his for the taking yet!

Next up is this weekends JEG’s Northern Sportnationals in Columbus, Ohio. For those that can’t make the journey, we will be there to provide you with round by round coverage.

What a great three days!! First and foremost, thank you to all the competitors for being so gracious. This is simply a great group of folks!! We have taken well over 600 photographs including sequences of cars coming off the line, series of shots that cover every aspect of a car - from engine bays to wheel wells (with permission from the owners), and scenes from around the pits that cover the who’s who in the driver seat. We’ll work on getting these posted over a period of time along with filling out a complete section on every car and driver that is competing in the Mopar Hemi Challenge Series. So bookmark the page and stop by occasionally to see what’s new. Until the next event…..when we’ll have more round by round coverage.

Monday, 25 August 2008 19:00

The gang at HemiShootOut.net is looking forward to providing everyone with round-by-round coverage at this year’s Mopar Hemi Challenge at the US Nationals. Qualifying kicks off tomorrow (rotating SS. Stock, SG & SC only) beginning at 9:00 AM. Thursday, passes start at 8:00 AM and of course Friday the Mopar Hemi Challenge is an all-day affair with Sportsman Elimination showing a 7:30 AM start on the official NHRA schedule.

We will be track side all three days, posting as quickly as we get results. We will also be taking shots of all the cars and over the course of the next three days posting car/driver pages with information about your favorites. Last but not least, we hope to post as many direct driver quotes as possible - nothing like hearing it from the source.

We hope for all of you that can’t be here in Indiana that you enjoy the coverage - and try not to get caught by your boss!
